A self-initiated project created by Greg Bennett to raise awareness of the war and genocide in Darfur has been selected for inclusion in AIGA's Fifty exhibition. AIGA, the professional association for design, is committed to advancing design as a professional craft, strategic advantage and vital cultural force.
The militia in Darfur use starvation, mass murder, displacement and rape as weapons of war to maintain control. This fact is what influenced the concept for this poster: Rape, 1 of 4 weapons used daily in Darfur. Lettering the word rape with bullet shells further enhance the idea of war and genocide.
