Graphis Poster Annual | Gold Award
A self-initiated poster created by Greg Bennett to raise awareness of the war and genocide in Darfur has been selected for inclusion in the Graphis Poster Annual '08/'09. Graphis features the best internationally produced graphic design. Their annuals are categorized by discipline. Three projects from Greg's award-winning portfolio have received this prestigious honor.
The militia in Darfur use starvation, mass murder, displacement and rape as weapons of war to maintain control. This fact is what influenced the concept for this poster: Rape, 1 of 4 weapons used daily in Darfur. Lettering the word rape with bullet shells further enhance the idea of war and genocide.
